چکیده

lhoime (or lhospital) utilizatioin review committees or, more basically, by claiming that the qutality of patient care in nursing homes has improved as a result of the teclinique. Finally, utilization review includes by definition more suitable alternatives for the care of specific patients in addition to a determination of the appropriateness of their stays in ECF's. This determination, the referral of patients to other services, anid tile development of patient care alternatives are far beyond the narrow interests of an institution-based utilization review process, making tlhe community-based utilization review committee the most meaningful application of the teclhniquie, as Dressler emplhasizes.
